| For some reason or another it seems as though most of my “friends” are trying to play match maker… probably because they don’t have anything else to do in the winter except think of how they can push their agenda on others (maybe this isn’t as much to do with the winter months as it is to do with the political season). Anyhow, for some reason or another in the last 2 or 3 months my “friends” have tried to set me up with 3 different guys who are either chiropractors or are in school studying to be chiropractors. Now I have never thought of myself as a touchy, feely person. On an average day I would say that I feel like strangling someone at least twice as much as I feel like hugging an individual. So I am pretty perplexed why people would try to set me up with a chiropractor. Do I look like I need an adjustment? Do I seem like I like being touched? Thankfully, since I am working two full time jobs I don’t have the time to meet Mr. Chiropractor and I can simply give the excuse that I have to work (which is a wonderful excuse… my patients need me). Now I did meet one of these touchy fellows in the fall… I don’t know what a typical chiropractor looks like because I try to avoid them, but this guy looked like he was going to end up looking like the fellow in this picture in about 10 years from now and if anyone is going to touch me it is definitely not going to be this guy.
Hope you all are having a great winter! | | |
| Tonight was my first night working as a charge nurse. Everything went well... no problems with the patients and most importantly all of the nursing staff seemed to get along well and worked together as a team. Though I didn't know I would have this experience so early, it turned out to be a good one. | | |
| Went to the Buckeyes game on Saturday - it was wonderful not a shut out but still good - but any day spent at the 'Shoe is wonderful. And once again, the band put on a spectacular half time performance. I wouldn't say this last year because the football team was so good, but this year I'm going to say that the band is more talented for the team. And all of the music major friends of mine should be happy with that comment. Oh yah, the Indians are playing pretty well too. I hope that they go all of the way to the World Series and win it for that would make for a perfect fall. I have been spending way too much time thinking about pumpkins lately… which is Callie’s fault. Yet, pumpkins are good things – they are a big part of fall. I want to make some pumpkin cakes and some roasted pumpkin seeds, and some pumpkin fritters. Thinking about pumpkins makes me hungry. I work tonight - happiness . | | |
| “Clear the Air Chats” Have you ever experienced a time when you knew that you had to address an issue with someone but you didn’t want to because it didn’t know how your heart to heart chat would go. I had one of those experiences on Monday or it might have been Sunday (working night shifts has me all confused regarding days). Anyhow, the conversation to clear the air went well, very well actually. Turns out the person I was talking to felt the same regarding the matter but there was a breakdown in communication somewhere. If I was 10 years old, things would be a lot easier at work or at least they would be from my prospective… I just find it funny to be telling people twice my age what to do and how to do their job. Oh, well…its the role of the R.N. | | |
| I am sure that I have something interesting going on in my life that would be worth writing about but the math homework that is 130 pages long and due tomorrow but not yet started is giving me writers block. Thoughts from work… I love working Thursday night, Saturday night, Sunday night, and Monday night… when my patients are guys and not originally from Marion because then I get to watch FOOTBALL with my patients! And it is especially great when the guys use their call lights to ensure that I see the spectacular plays. However, Monday nights with patients originally from Marion entails wrestling matches on T.V. and hearing how it is soooo real! Sure, grown men wearing spandex, body slamming each other, and using chairs as props but no one ever getting hurt is really real??? I’ll take the pig skin any day over the WWWF. | | |
